I am Robin Jarnagin and this is my third quarter at Cal Poly as a returning student. I attended school in the Pomona Unified School District, graduating from Pomona High School. I have attended Cal Poly Pomona University, Loma Linda University (B.S. in Health Informatics), as well as community college. At the community college level I completed my associate degree, and a Cosmetology License with the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs. My hobbies center around artistry and creativity. I have a passion for interior design, art, and fashion design. I enjoy traveling and attending entertainment events.
This course seems as though it is going to be quite and adventure. I have never designed a web site before and everything is all new to me. I have always wanted to have a site for my business, so this is my big chance. I'm sure that many of you are just experts at all of this. I'm excited to see what everybody will come up with.
The
technology continuum is quite a challenge for me. I often find it to be
confusing and perplexing. It is an entirely different way
of thinking, approaching and viewing things. I am a creative person, but
my creativity
involves more of a tactile sense. I learn and have to use my sense of
touch and
feel. I need to touch texture, see and work with color and work hands on
with
products and materials. The technology continuum is very virtual, and
all in
the mind. The computer is a tool or device that is touched, but the
software is
not touchable. The software is a virtual tool that can be manipulated
and continually
changes through new versions and upgrades. In all honesty, I often have a
hard
time with technology, sometimes don't like it, but I continually try and
persevere.
Until Later,
